About

Christina Chook Jia Wei is a sustainability researcher and published academic writer with a Master's degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies from National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan. Her research focuses on environmental policy, plastic waste management, community-based conservation, and sustainable tourism development across Southeast and East Asia.

Christina has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognised journals and edited volumes, including Circular Economy and Sustainability, Journal for Nature Conservation, Conservation Science and Practice, the Journal of Material Cycles and Waste Management, and a book chapter in a Springer volume on combating plastic pollution. Her work employs quantitative methodologies — including choice experiments, importance-performance analysis, and statistical modelling via SPSS — to generate empirical insights that inform policy and practice.

Her research has engaged diverse stakeholder groups, including indigenous communities in Taiwan, local governments, conservation practitioners, and industry actors, reflecting a commitment to community-centred and participatory approaches to environmental problem-solving.

Alongside her academic contributions, Christina applies her research expertise in applied settings as Head of Operations at DOMI Earth, where she supports evidence-based sustainability programming across Taiwan and Thailand. This integration of academic rigour and field experience underpins her approach to collaborative scholarship.

Christina writes and publishes in English and Chinese, and is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
